Round 1 Results for the Great Literary Tournament



TGLT-postSixty-four book characters faced off in round one of our bookish March Madness this week, and you, our readers, chose your champions.

Fun facts:

  • Winnie-the-Pooh decimated Martin the Warrior (Redwall) with the largest lead, winning 86% of the votes versus Martin's 14%.
  • Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson's duel was the closest fought, with Annabeth receiving 50.4% of the votes.
  • The second-closest battle was between Cthulhu and the gunslinger Roland Deschain (The Dark Tower series), with Roland getting 51.5% of the votes.
  • The most lopsided battle of the sexes was between Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, and Nancy won handily over the boys with a 79% to 21% vote breakdown.
