Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

GrinchSkinny200HLast year it was a big deal when a new Dr. Seuss book--What Pet Should I Get?--was released from the confines of forgotten storage and into the world.  And a Seussian world it's become, hasn't it?

Who among us doesn't have someone they refer to as a Grinch during the holidays when the grumbling and complaining starts up along with the Christmas carol muzak?  And that chubby little environmentalist, The Lorax, recently made it to the hallowed stage of Saturday Night Live when Tina Fey, doing her best Sarah Palin imitation, solemnly announced "I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees."  Put "Dr. Seuss" into a search engine or social media site and you'll find everything from quotes and quilts to cupcakes and tattoos.  It's the unique alchemy of silliness and wisdom that makes Seuss truly one of a kind, so let's celebrate his 112th birthday with a look back at some of his most beloved characters...(all images TM & © Dr. Seuss Enterprises, L.P.
